Questions about Sign PDF

Is an electronic signature legally binding?

In many countries, including the US (ESIGN Act and UETA) and the EU (eIDAS), electronic signatures are legally valid for most documents. Some documents, such as wills, may have other requirements, so check if you're unsure.

Do the people I send a document to need an account?

No. They get an email with a private link, open the document and sign it in their browser.

Is signing free?

Signing a PDF yourself is free. Sending documents for others to sign is included in the free trial and in the Basic and Pro plans.

What's in the audit trail?

Who signed, when, from which IP address, and a SHA-256 fingerprint of the document before and after signing, so any later change can be spotted.
